Glenn Massay Theater
University of Alaska
This performing arts facility at University Alaska Anchorage's Matanuska-Susitna College was the first new building to open on the Palmer campus since 2003 and was a decade in planning. The building provides dressing rooms, costume shop, and green room which doubles as a conference area. The loading dock and scene shop for construction and storage occupy the area behind the stage. Most lights are LED, permitting easy color and mood changes from the light booth.
The 520-seat audience chamber features a Meyer Sound Constellation reverberation enhancement system allowing for reverberation time adjustments with the press of a button to readily fit the specific needs of any performance. The seats nearest the stage have fold-out desks for student note-taking when used for lectures.
MCH provided full-scope acoustical and AV consulting from early Programming through Construction Administration and acceptance testing.
