West Hollywood Library
Los Angeles County
This library complex is a partnership between the Los Angeles County library system, which operates the facility, and the City which paid for its construction.
The library proper occupies the top two floors of the three-story building which also houses a children’s library, a children's story room, teen center, career development center, special collections, offices, and meeting rooms. A 150-seat multipurpose public meeting room (for council and commission meetings and other uses), cafe, bookstore and TV station, are on the first floor.
The total project also includes two parking garages: a 90-car subterranean structure for the exclusive use of library patrons, and a 330-car structure serving the neighborhood with a roof offering tennis courts and scenic views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.
This project obtained LEED Gold Certification. MCH provided full-scope acoustical consulting services.
