The student center has become the nexus serving all types of students, including commuters, boarders, graduate students, and even faculty. It earned LEED Silver certification. The main entry consists of a two-story gallery “Mixing Hall,” off of which are immediately located Reception, Student Recreation, Student Life Offices, and a café on the Ground Floor. Non-specialized classrooms along the Second Floor balcony are flexible to ensure the movement of a maximum number of students and faculty through the Campus Center. The third story consists primarily of a multipurpose Banquet Room directly above the entry gallery area, with a “Pre-function Porch” cantilevering over the sidewalk, both of which command panoramic mountain views. To the west, a two-story café terminates the linear form of the building in a glass-walled curvilinear room that wraps a full-service open kitchen and café table seating.

Both speech intelligibility and music requirements are met beautifully. A state-of-the-art AV system allows the Banquet Room to be divided into four separate presentation spaces or combined into one grand hall, complete with a projection screen. High-definition flat-screen displays and video projection are used throughout the building, and the ground floor boasts a surround-sound gaming lounge.
