Phoenix Symphony Hall Renovation
Phoenix, AZ
Since 1989, the City of Phoenix retained MCH on separate occasions to improve acoustics in the orchestra shell, pit, and hall generally. The newly-invigorated hall, home of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, opened on schedule to a memorable Yo-Yo Ma program three days after September 11, 2001. The subsequent convention center expansion spurred a major, albeit non-acoustical, renovation. MCH found opportunities to acoustically “harden” the space in the course of upgrading finishes and improving lateral reflections in the course of simply making the new HVAC system quiet.
