Novartis HQ Building

Novartis Pharma
Basel, Switzerland

This new glass-encased building on Novartis Pharma's Basel, Switzerland campus serves their human resources group and serve as a training and presentation facility as well.  Open offices on 5 floors are designed for adequate office speech privacy while enclosed glass pods provide suitable privacy for interviews plus small meetings and conferences.   Included is a 600 seat presentation auditorium in the basement divisible into 150- and 400-seat venues for concurrent use, using a custom-designed STC60  operable partition.  Computer modeling was used to carefully adjust wall and ceiling panel angles to ensure a high degree of speech intelligibility in the absence of voice amplification.  MCH was engaged by Gehry Partners for all aspects of acoustical design.   In Basel, MCH worked closely with its partner firm, Gruner Ltd. and executive architect, ANW.  Opened late 2009 for an undisclosed sum.  Additional design details and prospective project references are presently confidential.
