The major pediatric components include general pediatric beds, pediatric ICU beds, diagnostic and treatment space, ambulatory services, emergency department, surgical services, support services and a Ronald McDonald House.  When the client determined that they were disinclined to support an acoustician's involvement in the expansion and Children's Hospital component the architectsretained MCH for acoustical oversight in any case as a "due diligence" effort.  Areas of our involvement included, in addition to Central Plant  and exam/treatment and patient room noise and vibration control: General intensive care, Cardiac intensive care, Cardiology department, Open-heart surgery, Neurology department, Pediatric medical and surgical care, Pediatric intensive care, Obstetrics, Orthopedics department and the Emergency department.
