South Mountain Community College
This library, opened in September 2011, combines the functions of a modern public library with the components of a state of the art central campus library. The library includes a 200 seat multifunctional community meeting room, conference and multimedia center, teen space, high tech classrooms, computer center, quiet and interaction rooms, Wi-Fi, study rooms, 131 public computers with Internet access, patio spaces and a new collection of newspapers and magazines, books, DVDs and CDs. A children’s library and story-time room are organized below the academic story telling institution with vertical connection to the exterior courtyard dedicated to the children’s use. MCH provided full-scope acoustical consulting services on this facility jointly operated by Phoenix Public Library and South Mountain Community College.
