Campus Crossroads Music Department

University of Notre Dame

South Bend, IN

In early 2014, the University of Notre Dame announced their $400M plans to turn their stadium into a centralized, year-round hub.  This is the largest building project in its 172-year history, integrating the music departments, student life and athletics with the construction of more than 750,000sf in three new buildings attached to the west, east and south sides of the University’s iconic 1930s football stadium.

Because of the enormous success of ND’s DeBartolo Center for Performing Arts (completed 2004), MCH was specifically requested by Notre Dame’s music faculty to be engaged with the architects on the two principal music spaces in the South Building.  The recital hall will accommodate 140+ patrons while the main music rehearsal room will serve a variety of rehearsal and informal performance functions.

Construction began in early 2016 with completion in mid-2019.
