The Griffith Observatory recently re-opened as one of the world's major planetaria. The new underground facility houses temporary and permanent exhibition areas along with offices, gift shop and classrooms. The popular hall of science was refurbished and expanded with new interactive exhibits. The New West terrace features a glass meridian wall designed to provide a spectacular display of the constellations when sunlight strikes the meridian line each day. Of particular significance, is the theater/lecture hall and multi-media planetarium theater with advanced technology for enhanced show presentations.
